Inspired by the concept of Pax Romana and Pax Americana. Lineoleum carving was used to render a concept of what Spartan propagana would have potentially looked like.
The ever present bane of linoleum carvers: thinking backwards. I managed to render all letters properly but lapsed when carving the Earth.
The pattern in which a design is carved can be as beautiful as the print itself. The close cropped alignemnt of each channel and their curvilinear paths about the piece are captivating.
